A trip to TaosViews: 2747

Jasmine & I made a last minute trip to beautiful Taos, NM with some friends a few weeks ago. We started in Dallas and headed towards Hobbs, NM. Most people thought I was crazy for driving to Carlsbad en route to Taos but the kids loved the cavern. I had not been to Carlsbad in many years and a lot of upgrades had been made. A self guided personal speaker leads you on an adventure through the dark cavern. It was great. Unfortunately, we were not able to stay and see the bats exit at dusk.

The road from Carlsbad to Taos led us through Roswell. The aliens were all around and the kids were looking for aliens for days. The drive was pretty easy and thanks to modern SUVS with entertainment systems, I never heard the words “Are we there yet?” Of course, the kids did watch Epic movie and Austin Powers. Oh well! So much for parental controls.

We passed Santa Fe and made it to Taos. I have been to Santa Fe many times but it was my first trip to Taos. I loved it. The cool 75 degrees was a far cry from the 102 temperatures in Dallas. The mountains were beautiful and I had the opportunity to stay in a great house situated across from tribal Indian land. The kids fed the native horses. Since, we are city folk it was great to be in the country. The house was a 1/2 mile from the square and an easy walk. I made my morning jog and watched the sunrise. It was a really beautiful sight. I have not been so peaceful in a long time.

An opportunity to ride the rapids of the Rio Grande made for a great day. We had a terrific guide that gave us the history of the surrounding area. Of course, in my youth I rode the fast water of the Taos box but some of the kids were too young. Another day, we had a clairvoyant who specializes in medical situations come to the house. My reading was very good. She saw no signs of cancer and was very informative about many emotional issues. We spent 2 weeks of lazy days, going to town, going to market, going to Santa Fe, etc.

I really enjoyed the holiday. It was amazing how much fun we had doing nothing. Reading books and playing board games. A truly relaxing vacation.

I am so happy that no sign of cancer was found. WONDERFUL NEWS. THANK GOD.
I am glad you had such a nice trip.
Take care and GOD BLESS.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Hugs,
Joyce
